Rookie Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the Patriots secured an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since iconic QB Tom Brady's closing campaign with the team in the 2019 season
QB Drake Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a score, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws
The win bolsters the New England's lead at the summit of the division as they advanced to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets bottom after dropping to two wins and eight losses
The opposing team had taken the lead at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Justin Fields rushing for a short rushing score to finish the New York's initial series
But the New England fought back in the second period as Henderson scored two short rushing scores before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Maye at the back of the endzone in the middle of the third period to push the score to 21 to 7
"It was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep earning playing time," Maye said of Henderson. "He desires to be excellent."
Fields found John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to close the gap for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a two field goals in the final period as the home side sealed the victory
