Skydance Paramount Will Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – Report
Skydance Paramount plans to begin mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles within a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction follow the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August worth $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are expected, as the firm intending to reveal all specifics via its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Earlier reports stated the firm was looking to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 roles before the start of November.
Until December 2024, the company employed almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response regarding the report.
